We are proud an honored to announce with the signing of German prog-rockers PIGEON TOE one of the most interesting new German bands!

The idea of founding a new project besides their bands FEAR MY THOUGHTS, BACKSLIDE and MONGOUSE, already existed in the minds of the two brothers Marsn and Hanson since 2008. After the split of MONGOUSE they put even more focus on it and chose “PIGEON TOE” as a working title.

With some rough song ideas FEAR MY THOUGHTS bandmate Norman Lonhard (now TRIPTYKON) was asked to beat the skins and joined the band. Shortly after their well known fellow Ben Krahl (FINAL KINGS) at bass was in too. After FEAR MY THOUGHTS split up, Patrick Hagmann joined PIGEON TOE on 3rd Guitar and Synths.

After several shows in 2010 and 2011, amongst others with KARNIVOOL, PIGEON TOE supported LONG DISTANCE CALLING on their “Into The Black Wide Open – Tour” through Germany and Switzerland. During 2009 and 2010 PIGEON TOE had enough time to elaborate their songs which piled up and to form the shape and work out the concept for their debut album, which will be released via their new label home Lifeforce Records very soon. So stay tuned!

SOMEONE ELSE’S EYES is the fourth track of SHEAR’s upcoming album “Breaking the Stillness”. This song demonstrates the recognizable sound of SHEAR including the seamless interplay between the guitars, bass, and drums combined with the strong vocal melodies. The song flows from a heavier verse to a memorable and atmospheric chorus. SOMEONE ELSE’S EYES gives you a first glance of one of the many versatile tracks of the upcoming album of SHEAR.

In addition to the just revealed song here you can find 2 nice fan-filmed live videos for the tracks ‘Wounded’ and ‘No Way Out’ taken from the band’s Lifeforce Records debut “Breaking The Stillness” coming in March 2012. The videos were taken at the band’s show on January 19th in Helsinki.

FOR THE IMPERIUM… Now what kind of a name is that supposed to be? It is nondescript is what it is.
Much the same goes for these young Finns’ music. Trying to describe it, first you must ditch most conventional subgenres of rock music from the equation. Yet at the same time, there’s probably something from every last one of them on this album.

Now c’mon, man, you say. Everything’s been done already. Yeah, we know. Most of the stuff that combines every kind of music an average punter can imagine, is nowadays called ”post-hardcore”. A nice tag to be sure, but it says nothing (except that the ”hardcore” part reveals that the singer can’t really sing). Well, none of that matters, A LOT of the bands under that banner suck anyway. For The Imperium easily transcends ALL that crap. In fact, comparing any of the post-hardcore bands of today with FOR THE IMPERIUM is like comparing horse manure and mind-altering drugs. While the comparison may be plenty interesting, it sure doesn’t quite work…

To make a long story short FOR THE IMPERIUM’s musical animal is impossible to dissect with words. Besides, writing about music is exactly as useful as baking about architecture anyway.

Suffices to say just put most of the rock music you’ve ever heard in a blender. Add some of what you’ve never even imagined and spice it up with a crazy level of musicianship and hit the button. Let the mixture stand for a scant 40 minutes and what you’ve got, is greatness. Consume with your ears and prepare to be blown away.

As for the new album, all the material – 8 songs all in all – is now ready. Christian is currently working on the vocal arrangements, which will once again be based on the brilliant lyrics of Mr. Pär Johansson (Satariel, The Few Against Many). He on his part, has based his lyrics on a conceptual theme, worked out by Christian and him.

This album will be the first one with Oscar Nilsson behind the drum kit and man, just judging by his efforts on the pre-productional stuff, you may rest assured that this album will contain some insanely cool drumming! However, being in between drummers sort of, when shooting the video for “Dreamdecipher”, it does not feature Oscar Nilsson behind the kit. Instead Gustav Elowson (Exhale) – a good friend of the band – was kind enough filling in.

The recordings will start in February 2012, at the MT studios in Trollhättan/Sweden, with producer Marko Tervonen (The Crown) at the helm.
